All Smiles

I've been horrible at blogging. Thanks, Brenley, for getting on my case. :) Drew will be TWO months old on Friday!! I can't belive how big he's getting. I wish time would slow down. He's changing SO fast! His hair's starting to grow back in. He lost most of it from the top - not the back or sides. So cute! He is so much fun. He's so happy and smiley! It's pretty easy to get him to smile, which I absolutely LOVE. He doesn't love to snuggle as much as he used to, unless he's tired - but not too tired, then it just makes him mad, any type of consoling does. :) He now prefers to sit on my lap and lean into my arm looking at everything around him.

My hardest thing is that he's decided catnapping is more fun than taking good, long, productive naps. We're working on that. Right now, he's starting to stir after being asleep for 3 1/2 hours. This morning, he slept for 30 minutes. No wonder he's so tired. I'm trying to teach him to take good naps by letting him fuss. I H A T E it. I'm horrible at letting him fuss. Anytime he makes any noise, I check on him to see if he's okay or if he just wants to get up and hang out. :) But I'm learning. We'll get there.

I still absolutely LOVE being a mom! It's so much better and so much more fun than I ever thought it would be. I love that my life revolves around him and Dan. And I love that we're our little family. It makes me so happy.

Sad Day

Yesterday was a sad day for me. My brother, Rob, and his cute family, Kristi, Aaron, and Bryan, moved back to Utah from Oregon. It was SO much fun having them so close! Dan and I got to know their boys really well, which was awesome. We spent a lot of fun time with their family and we're so sad to see them go. BUT I'm so so excited for them! Rob will be doing a job that he'll LOVE and he'll get to work days, which is so great. We'll miss them so much, but I know they'll do so well. Utah is so lucky!! We love you guys!!

First Bath

Last Tuesday, Dan and I gave Drew his first real bath! It was so much fun!! Drew did really well. At first he didn't seem to care for it too much, but then got in the groove of things and seemed to like it. By the end though, he was done. :) He loves to have his hair washed and brushed. In fact, when we were just doing sponge baths, I think he could tell when it was time to do it because he'd always get so calm but he'd have this excited mood about him. One of my very favorite things is to wash and brush his hair because he loves it so much.

Today I gave him a bath and when I started brushing his hair after, he made an "ahhhh" noise. It was so sweet!! Here are some pictures of his first bath from last week.

Now I Get It

Before Ang and I became parents, I wondered why most people with children always blogged about their kids and nothing else. After being a dad for almost four weeks, I'm beginning to see why. From my experience thus far, my son has joyfully consumed our lives. Everything he does is of interest to us. We'd rather watch him lay around and do nothing than watch TV. His existence alone makes the rest of the world seem less exciting.

I've come to learn that my child makes me feel life is more worthwhile simply because he is in it.
